I've got 2 really nice bucks I'm hunting. They keep showing up separately between 3 different locations. So far there is no pattern or reason for when or why they are at a certain spot. I'm perfectly content shooting either one of them.

Say you had 3 or 4 sits in a row to hunt them. Would you 1) sit the same spot each time, hoping one made it around to you, or 2) sit a different spot each time hoping to guess right?

First answer is hunt whichever has better access or better wind.

Otherwise, Im a same spot guy when trying to get on a certain buck. I also find that hunting as many days in a row can help. When I get a deer on a good pattern, my rule is three mornings in a row until at least 10am. Going random days will drive you crazy with them always showing up when you dont.

Yeah, this is a good point. I chose the spot I hunted tonight because the wind was the "best" (still not great, but better than the other 2 options). Of course, one of the bucks was at a different feeder.

Same spot. Most comfortable position and seat.

I'd sit the spot that was across the wind from me (neither up nor downwind) and throw out about 2-3 diced up apples near where I wanted to shoot to.

Same spot. Can't tell you how many times I've moved and then he shows up where I was. I also stay in the stand as long as possible. Lots of folks quit to early and go out to late.

Well I switched spots this morning (call it location C) because the spot from last night (ocation A) is the hardest to access and I didn't want my son and I making too much noise in the dark.

Last night buck 1 was at location B during the hunt and also around midnight. Buck 2 was at location C around midnight as well.

Buck 1 is at A this morning. No sign of buck 2 yet.

At this point, I'll keep this thread going so y'all can follow along in my trials lol... All of you "same spot" guys are winning so far.

Want to really make yourself crazy? Put a cell camera at each spot- guarantee while sitting in one spot you'll get a picture of one of them at one of the other spots.

Will do once we're done hunting this morning.

For sure. How do you think I know where they are showing up?

Deer showing up at the other feeder once you move is an unwritten hunting certainty.

Right up there with dove being thick as clouds then disappearing on opening day.

I am telling you, throw a few diced up apples out and he will show up.

This is the one I'm calling Buck 1 in my posts. My son calls him Ben Ten...

This is the one I'm calling Buck 2, but my son calls him Mr. Crabs or Crabby...

Buck 1 has frequents locations A &B. Buck 2 frequents locations B & C.

Unfortunately, spot B has the worst setup for the wind right now. It will be great when the wind switches on Saturday morning, but we'll be gone by then. Youth baseball is messing with my hunting haha

If the spots are fairly close to each other, Easiest solution - Turn off feeders at A and C, spin feeder at B triple the amount and focus all time there

This is similar to changing lanes when driving, or moving to the "shorter" line at an event. It always backfires. Stay in one place.

Ben ten sure is pretty but I think crabby has him beat with mass and width.

AggieJames idea might work. If you dont have to worry about them getting shot elsewhere. I'm a fan of running a lot of feeders because Id rather them be at my feeders, where Im not hunting, than at someone else's.

Are these 3 spots in a line, so it would make sense to sit in the middle stand to maximize probability?

Are these 3 spots in a triangle or cluster and you could set up a ground blind or tripod in the middle of them?

Point taken. If it wasn't a good 45 minute round trip into town, I'd go get some apples.

I scattered cut up apples once. I didn't help….guess They didn't know what the hell the apple scent was as no apples anywhere in that part of the country…..and it must have scared them by being a foreign scent. But it made the hogs come!

I have had the opposite experience. Throwing out a few apples cut up made all kinds of deer I didn't usually get eyes on (including axis) come walking/trotting in with their noses in the air trying to figure out where that smell was coming from. Usually with the biggest buck trotting near the front to get there before everybody else.

My grandfather always did it as you say. I think when I did it we had stupid deer! We use to throw ear corn out as well. They would fiddle with it for hours. It was comical to watch.

Maybe it's been said already but don't worry about where, just make sure it's a mature buck. The second buck looks a year older to me.
