When castrating a calf with a knife, what's the best way to remove a testicle that appears attached to the wall of the scrotum? Calf age is about six months. I've participated in plenty of ranch brandings in the past, but this is a first time to experience this.

Scrape. Don't cut.
I really only use the knife to clean everything up after I feel it break loose. If for whatever reason I cant get my fingers around it or am worried about excessive bleeding I'll band him.
What makes you think its attached like that?

There was probably some trauma/injury that caused scar tissue to develop between the testicle and the scrotum. I would try to cut (with your knife) and manually tear (with your hands) the tissue between the testicle and scrotum so you can isolate the testicle for removal.
Thanks! I've never seen this condition before. I can't see any other way to separate that testicle other than cutting around the side that's attached.
Consider adopting the technique of old school Vaqueros and just nip it off with your front teeth.
