I know I know, its not what the OB typically does. I'm trying to decide if I "want" a new bow. I've currently got a Torrex XT bought somewhere around 21/22. I've been looking into the RX-9 and AX-2

DL: 29
DW: 70

Where I'm getting stuck is to spend all that money for "only" 0-6 FPS.

The bow weights are either the same or a little heavier, the ATA's are bigger which I don't love.

My preferred bow is Hoyt that's about 12 yo now. I still shoot it better than the newer 5 yo Hoyt that son was certain that I needed.

I think my Drenalin is older than that, Are you comfortable with your current bow? If you are, why spend a lot of money chasing a few fps. Remember, Chuck Adams killed tons of deer with bows probably close to half the speed of today's modern compound bows.

I personally wouldn't do it. There's a point of diminishing returns as far as speed goes reached quite a few years ago. But then again, I've never chased speed. For me it has always been about feel, comfortability and how accurate I am with the bow. Some just fit you better than others. Most of the major manufacturers make a really good bow these days. Just my $0.02

I'll add 'quiet' to your priorities. I want a bow that shoots as quiet as possible. Much more important than a few FPS.

To continue the trend of anti-OB responses, I'm still shooting a 15 year old Z7 and don't plan on upgrading anytime soon. My confidence in the bow is high and I shoot it really well. No reason to change right now.

Buy it. Spend the money on something you want before your wife, your kids or the government get it.

100%. That's why I still have my old Mathews Halon. That thing is absolutely dead in the hand and one of the most quiet bows I've ever shot. Super accurate as well.

Yeah when I have shot next to guys with all of the newer bows, I am surprised how much quieter my bow is than theirs.

Take your bow to a bow shop and shoot them side by side. You'll know if its worth it dropping 2K.

I did that a few years ago and walked out with new bow so be careful.

Agree. I shoot a 2018 BowTech Realm and have killed whitetail, black bear, and elk with it, but I'm considering buying a used Lift 33 from a buddy because it's so much quieter.

If you don't buy it, post it here. I would absolutely buy a good used Lift. I gave my old bow to my 16 year old son this year, so I'm in the market!

Ask yourself this: do you have enough money saved to retire already? If so, then buy it! It not, don't.

Wait another week or two for when all the 2026 flagship models drop. Then really pony up. YOLO!
