So a cold front is expected to blow in right at sunrise tomorrow. Is it worth going to the stand? Will it make a difference either way? I have never been in the stand as one blows in.

I've found the deer will lay down as it blows, but become real active as soon as it settles. I'd be out there!

Wind expected to blow Sunday and Monday. They will forage at night when the wind dies.

I have seen NOTHING when hunting ideal conditions, and seen good stuff in times there shouldn't be. I would probably just go if I wanted to. What's the worst that could happen?

This. I was on stand one morning when a norther blew through. Dropped 20 degrees in 10 mins and blew like hell. Had a doe and 2 yearlings in front me, they dropped in their tracks and laid right down in the jeep trail til the wind died back down. Then stood up and went back to browsing.

Just dress for wind and dropping temp. Several times in my life pre smartphone, I went out on a balmy still morning only to have front blow in sometimes even wet and froze before giving up late morning.

Cold front during the rut can lead to hard running all day long. Ive seen chasing happening in 30mph wind.

Otherwise, can try sneaking in closer to bedding areas from the downwind side. I've also done well down in secluded oak bottoms during heavy cold wind. They'll still feed but wont move far to do it.

This. I killed a decent buck one Thanksgiving morning in the hill country. The front hit right at daylight. Wind blowing like heck and temps dropped quickly. At about 9 ish or so I saw a doe running and the buck was trailing her like heck.

Cant remember who did it but there's a study that shows wind speed doesn't have an effect on deer movement. Makes sense too, I mean they must move to eat and must stay active to breed. Plus, my place in west texas is windy almost every day. Sometimes it calms at night but the deer arent about to become intermittent nocturnal only creatures

Wind has been a negative factor every hunt I had for 40 years. They lay down when the wind blows. And get up when it stops blowing.

So Tuesday afternoon id hunt. Not before. Then hunt Wednesday morning. too old to waste hunts.

These studies are done by folks that don't spend much real life time in the outdoors and usually the results are skewed by improper research parameters. Wind spooks horses, mules, and basically any prey animal because it negates one of their key survival senses which is hearing.
High wind also desensitizes their smell sense as well.
The notion that wind does not effect deer movement is as false as the supposed "research" that says the moon does not effect deer (any cervidae for that matter) movements.
Granted, cervidae have enhanced night vision, but moonlight allows more light to be gathered in their eyes which makes their sight sense more improved than total dark nights…..therefore they will move more to forage because it's safer for them.
I have lots of deer spot light census data that, without a doubt, highly supports the fact that deer movement is definitely affected by moonlight and wind.

You can throw all common sense for a buck out the window when he is in full rut and nothing on his mind but…….ladies. He like: " To hell with that wind and that stinky human in that blind over there…..I smell…women!"
(I would get banned if I put the real word!)

Every nice buck I've seen on our place would beg to differ. They magically become intermittent nocturnal creatures after Nov 1st.

This. Survival is what drives any prey animal. They adjust to environmental factors as needed to try and stay alive. Dead deer don't make more deer. Heavy hunting pressure and abnormal activity will push deer to being more nocturnal. Deer don't have to eat or breed 24/7 to survive. They adjust their habits to the environmental conditions as needed to insure their best chance of living through that day.
There were studies that showed we needed to wear mask during Covid too.

It's really not rocket science. Walk outside on a blustery windy day. Can you hear as well as on a still day? No.
Deer and other animals the same.
Animals in traditionally more windy areas like the trans-Pecos region for example, have adapted to the more windy conditions by feeding in canyons and heavy brush/pinion trees etc to minimize the effects of the winds best they can. However if you have a hard blue norther with hard winds blow in …they will usually find cover on the downwind side of an outcropping, canyon, brush, etc and lay up for a bit.

That's a good factor to consider when planning a hunt. I've got blinds up on hilltops overlooking native open pastures, and I've got blinds set up down in bottoms hunting cut senderos. Some hunt mostly north of blind, while some hunt mostly south of blind.
Pick your blind for the day according to wind speed and direction.

Nah we're not rutting yet here in Brown county.

The biggest of the three took one look at the doe and one look at the food plot the other two were munching on and decided he was more hungry than horny.

But to your point, now that the wind has kicked up even more, I haven't seen squat

I think this evening is going to be a great time to sit. Deer will move to feed before hunkering down for the actual cold tonight.

Like most have said you may get a passing doe, buck but they are gonna be nervous with high wind. In the hill country they would find the thickest areas bed and eat occasionally or they would go to the thicker flat bottoms and do the same. We saw more in the bottoms always. Mule deer love the south sunny side of hills and canyons. But they can bed down and be a ghost. Can only catch and ear twitch or sun glisten off an antler

Didn't get anything on the camera this morning, maybe too cold for them since there's still plenty of moonlight?

Monday was great, cold and still in the morning, then steady north breeze picked up around 8am. Never got too windy. Had 4 different bucks within bow range between morning and evening. 2 were chasing does. The only shooter was on the wrong side of the fence. This morning was similar, but wind coming up from the south. In Leon County.

There is a plenty of movement data out there that says this is false. They move in different places and maybe different times but they dont just magically stop moving during the day and only move/feed at night
