After 15+ years, the soles of my Wolverine work/hunting boots finally separated this weekend and I don't think the duct tape is going to last long.

Second pair of Wolverine's I've had since probably the late 90's. First pair the soles ended up disintegrating after about 11 years and then I picked up the current pair that's now going to be retired.

I prefer the pull-on style and use these for pretty much anything out in the woods or on work days at the family farm.

Just curious if there are any better options out there now. I guess I wouldn't be opposed to a lace-up option and I have a separate pair of muck boots for when there's a need for those.

If they fit your feet and you got 15 years out of them....I do believe I would be buying another pair. Why change for grins?

In 2025, all you are going to get is opinions on what everyone bought to justify their purchase. So, I guess I can start. I like my Double H pull ons. I also like Ariat work books. Thorogood are quality USA made but they don't have a style that fits my foot without being clown shoes so I don't have those for only that reason. Ive had Justin and Redwings as well. No manufacturer has lasted 'longer' than any other I have owned and none of them have lasted 11 years except my Twisted X and that is because I wore them a few times and they have been in my closet ever since.

I have the Ariat Men's Sierra EH Wellington Work Boots. Steel toe. Most comfortable boots I've owned.

Bought them five years ago and wear them hunting or at our family's old farm when I get the chance. I do not wear them daily.
TexAgs: as long as we have each other, we will never run out of problems.

i bought some Ariat soft-toed work boots with square toe to wear around my land for projects as well as hunting and they are comfortable, but the soles have separated from them in less than a year. Do not recommend.

I can tell you two brands that have not held up well for me: Ariat and Twisted X. Like many other boot brands, they're made in China. Got maybe a year out of my last pair of Twisted X, my boy didn't even get that long out of his.

I have a pair of steel toe Thorogoods, but they are kinda heavy and very hard to break in. Not the most comfortable boot I've ever worn, but supposedly durable and US made.

I have been very pleased with the Double H's I bought a couple years ago. Well-made, durable, comfortable, EH rated, & easy to break in. The particular model I bought is US made. Best pair of boots I ever had though was a pair of Redwings. Bought em for $110 in 1996 and kept em until the wife made me get rid of them a few years back. But you probably answered your own question about the Wolverines. If it aint broke, don't fix it.

I am breaking in a pair of lace up Wolverines right now.
Had good luck with Justin in the past and wouldn't hesitate to get another pair.

Previously had Twisted X. They are junk.
rather be fishing

Schnee's are my everyday boot now that's I'm working in mountainous terrain. Aftermarket insoles are a must for me because the ones that come in them are crap.

I wish Red Wing still made these.

That's all we wore in high school in the 90's.

As for the OP's question. I recommend Danner boots. I wear their Bull Run Chelsea boots for my everyday boot. For my mountain hunts (hiking involved) I like their Vital or Pronghorn models.

Danner work boots are available with or without the steel toe.
Out of the box comfortable with no break in period. I keep an extra new pair in case they ever quit making them.

1000000% Brunt! I've had these for 4 years and the only complaint is they're not the greatest in mud because of the crepe sole but unbelievably comfortable! They work well as hunting boots if you get the waterproof lined ones, plus they're more comfortable as the non water proof ones are unlined and just rough leather.

Same, but mine are 1132.
I've been wearing those for decades and that's still all I wear. I've got a couple of work pairs and a Sunday-go-to-meeting pair. They were on sale a couple of weeks ago and they'll probably have a Black Friday sale. But they are out of stock frequently, so you'll have to keep watching.

Watch their website on Black Friday. They usually have a massive sale, but a lot of their stock will be sold out in less than a week.

Brogan 2126's were part of the culture in small town Texas high school in the 90's and the feed store kept a nice stock. If your parents let you listen to alternative and "worked in Bryan" you might've had some Doc Martens and Levi's but for us Aggie96 only kids with locally employed folks, we had our Brogans, Carhartts, and 20x's replenished each Christmas.
