I figured you folks would appreciate this. My 10 year has taken a big interest in shooting the past few years, but felt ready to hunt this year. He has been seeing this guy come out most nights just after shooting hours ended. Last night, he made the mistake of walking in front of the feeder at 5:30, and our 10 year old dropped him like a bad habit with a shot to the throat patch. Deer dropped immediately, and my kid broke down in tears with joy after yelling "GOT HIM!"

My husband was BEYOND excited, and im one proud momma.

My 11 yr old is on year 3 of his hunting. Started with a doe, shot a soike last year and this year got an early season doe with an MLD tag but were still searching for a proper legal buck.

What your son shot was better than anything on our lease so my son wouldnt have had the opportunity.

Honestly, in the 7 years we have owned our property, this is the first legal buck to walk out for us. Everything around here is small. My husband said if it was just him, he probably would have left him hoping to get another year or 2 out of him. But you cant take that away from a 10 year old lol.
