I've recently purchased and installed the Govee Pro lights on my home. I am having a hard time finding the right color maroon. Everything is looking either red or purple and I can't figure out a maroon that looks right. Does anyone have a Hex Code that looks like the correct color? I've tried 800000, 550000, 800020, 880000 and tried the color wheel in the app and cannot get it for the life of me. Any help would be greatly appreciated

LED lights don't do maroon well. They're only RGB and white. Don't you remember the Kyle field light debate?

I have no idea how flexible the govee lights are, but I'm guessing you'll want "darker" if reading red (not enough blue/green) or purple (not enough green to offset the impact of blue). Something like a 670E10, 510400, 621010, or 592720?

He literally already said he didn't like 800020… AI isn't a panacea.

If it makes you feel any better, every Saturday my house looks like a peppermint with my jellyfish lights

Listen, you don't have to justify your support of UH to us.

According to our Marcomm website ( Brand Colors Marketing & Communications | Texas A&M University), the official hexcode for Aggie Maroon is 500000 and the RGB is 80,0,0.

I am currently debating between Enbrighten, Govee, and doing my own in channels.

Any insight?

I installed ASAHOM lights recently. I shopped them against Govee, and I liked the app better. It's more customizable and allows you to use WLED straight through the app. Their LEDs are brighter, and they allow much longer runs.

Each hex code has an RGB conversion. Putting in a hex code automatically puts it in RGB for an LED light. If he's tried hex codes he already knows about RGB.

And it's one of the same reasons that an Aggie maroon of #500000 or 80,0,0 isn't going to read any different than "red" in LED.

Can't make a true maroon color light since a component of the color is black. It's the same reason you can't really create navy. Any color that has a large component of black will be hard to create with lighting. I don't know your scenario, but one way to kind of 'trick' lighting is by the color of the wall/brick/etc you're shining against.

I've played around with RGB values to replicate maroon, but it's not real doable.

It's why the maroon at the new Kyle Field lights are really kinda red.
