Headed to Plainview next week for our annual goose/crane hunt. Anybody know what the bird numbers look like up there?

They've been pretty thick around panhandle. Latest playa was holding about 2-300 geese with snows and Canada. Crane were equally heavy in the fields south of there. Several thousands. I presume it'll be good

Just got back from pheasant hunting in Plainview last weekend. We saw plenty of geese. Saw plenty sand hills while traveling out there. The area is dry. A lot of dry playa lakes. The ones that did hold water had geese. Good luck.

Who are you going with? Guide we have been hunting with for the last 15 years out of Tulia said the birds have been thick with pictures to prove. He has even been shooting a decent amount of ducks in the fields.

Early season was tough but Orin and the boys are stacking them up right now. Geese finally showed up, and ducks are thick
