This has slowly been spreading all over my D.D.Blanchard Magnolia. Need some help! We have been enduring one of the worst droughts in history here in the Coastal Bend, and everything has been vulnerable because of watering restrictions. Anyway, would appreciate anyone's input on my tree problem. Thanks in advance.

I will bump this for you. I am not savvy with these trees to know what this is, but it looks like some sort of leaf spot or fungus.

I was thinking it was scale. Try an oil spray now that it's cool.

100% scale.
Hit the tree with horticultural oil and then next spring do a soil drench with a systemic pesticide that has imidacloprid.

Another alternative to the imidacloprid is Zylam, which is dinotefuran based. It's what I used on mine, and knocked it out quick. It's a little pricey, but goes a long way and is very effective. I bought it on Amazon, but you might find it your local nursery too.

Scale. Perfect time of year for using horticultural Dormant oil spray.

It is Nontoxic to animals.
