Bought a new fiberglass stand. Good price and stand is well made. Had it delivered today to the pasture. Set it up and…

the door is locked…

and the keys are in it….

Grandparents are scheduled to watch kids so we can hunt it tomorrow. Not sure how to remedy this. Not letting the grandparents know though.

Call the people that sold it to you. Ask for them to give you a replacement key, I suspect they're universal, pronto.

Called the manufacturer. They don't have an easy solution because this has never happened (my luck right?). Already googled "how to pick an rv lock" so I'm probably being traced now. If anyone is good at picking locks we can be friends.

Are the windows locked too? Seems like you could open one and create some sort of long wire deal to pick them up?

Can you just drill out the lock portion on the handle and the handle still function? Maybe then manufacturer can send you a replacement handle that is rekeyed.

Ok, this is exactly what the manufacturer said as a "last resort", but I'm not sure how to go about it. Any recommendation on how? I'm fairly handy and can figure it out with English directions.

Oh man, yeah you're SOL. I'd probably try picking the lock with the expectation you'll either fail or damage the **** out of the locking mechanism and it will need to be replaced

Turn it on its side
Cut a hole in the bottom
Climb in
Turn it right side up
Hunt

I just asked my 4 year old what to do:

"Well you twist and twist on the door handle, then bang on it and bust it and if the keys don't come out you call the guy and he comes and fixes it."

Well bud, we may just jump straight to calling "the guy"…

Surprised more of the OB doesn't have a basic lockpick set. Even just a city rake and diamond/medium hook will easily defeat 80% of commercial locks. Cheap and I am sure it is 100% guaranteed you are going to go up against a keyless lock multiple times in your life (you're own of course).

If you can see the latching mechanism you just need to get a thin hook behind it and pull. If you have an old junk credit card or something of the sort can cut those up to work nice for it.

Ah didn't see it was an inset door lock. You can try bumping it. Get all your keys and see which ones fit and try them all with a few bumps. Might get lucky. If not you can just make your own. Also super easy. Bumping a door handle might be the easiest kind of "picking" there is honestly.

My Ranch King blind has similar lock on it. My keys were on the inside zip tied to the handle if I remember right. I wonder if the locking mechanism somehow engaged with all the movement across the pasture. I have one of the keys in my hunting backpack here in Tomball. Would let you borrow it if you are going to be in Houston area.

I have one of those too, but was handed the keys separately so it was never on my mind today. I tried that key on this one and they are definitely different. No movement.

We have two of those stands did they add locking mechanisms to the windows? As they use to be just sliding windows albeit a bit hard to slide!

Yea, the hex screws I think. Was thinking about taking one window off, but not sure what that would do to the seal. I can't really investigate the inside to see what long term damage I'll cause.

Bring a tube of caulk and reseal it. I think this is going to be your best solution.

I have one of these stands as well and the windows don't lock. Our door actually stays locked (lost keys during a move) and we slide window open and reach in and unlock door from inside.
