Bought one of these with solar panel as recommended by the board. Anyone recommend settings for this and a t post mount for both? Standard settings seems to be missing some animals or partial pics.

Two round sticks behind the T for surface area and zip ties. Dad and I just did two yesterday. He prefers Velcro because you can re-use it. I prefer zip ties because they're fast and cheap if you have to re-use.

Like maybe a taller t post so you can mount solar panel out of reach and a couple pieces of rebar instead of the wood?? Maybe?

I use tie wire to mount a 2x4 about 2' long to the t-post and then the camera to that. Nail a 1x6 or other 2x to the top perpendicular to the ground for some rain cover.

Hybrid setting check is best. If it takes a picture it connects to cellular for 5 min to send it and check for updates or on demand pictures/videos.

With the solar panel and decent sun it will run all year with out needing to check batteries.

Do you need the battery pack for the camera or will it be fine with the battery in the solar panel?

I have only used the AA batteries and the solar panel. The new cameras and newer solar panels that will also charge the rechargeable battery pack would be nice. But by then you are for at least $400.

Only time I have had issues is not getting the solar panel in the direct sun in the winter.

Also really long video mode and instant settings check will drain battery fast. If you have a bunch of pigs at night then it will drain battery. If trying to do that I would have new solar panels and rechargeable packs.

They sell a post on Amazon. I like it. But more expensive than a t-post. I keep my sensitivity setting between 7 and 9 depending on wind

I bought the rechargeable battery packs for all of mine. Haven't also bought solar chargers yet. But I'm ok going and grabbing the batteries to charge them once every several months.

I have a t post mount for one of them and another one just strapped to a tree with the strap it came with.

I don't think they miss animals or fail to detect motion. Adjust the sensitivity up if you think it's missing or down if it's taking too many pictures of nothing due to wind or moving branches.

Adjust the delay up to 5 or 10 minutes if there's too much animal activity and it's taking so many pics it will run out your data plan.
