I have groups of 40-50 destroying my pastures. Little effers won't come to the traps. I'm keeping plenty of corn inside the traps. What's your secret?

Sounds like you need a group of guys with thermals to do some work on your place

Spotlight and a rifle. If you harass them enough, they will move on. But you have to be persistent about it.

Perhaps try baiting them with something that smells a lot more than just plain corn. At some point their desire to investigate the odor might just overcome their caution. Plenty of recipes on the internet.

What sort of trap are you running?

Big WiFi falling side trap. 8 sections made from drilling pipe. Trap door slides down upon command.

I've had good luck with heart traps and sweet feed.

I built a "figure 6" corral style trap with 5 cattle panels and t-posts about 3 weeks ago after a sounder came through and totally rooted up a bunch of my trails. I placed it right by an obvious animal crossing / trail as also confirmed by typical movement on my trail cam where they go down to the river at night and come up to bed down in deep woods on my property in the day. ...but so far, the trap has only had deer and raccoons in it every day and night. I haven't armed it. It's propped open. I'll just keep putting corn in there until the hogs migrate back through and then once I see they're comfortable going in there, I'll add hog punch or kool aid to the corn and arm it. ...but I'm open to suggestions. I'm a complete novice at this stuff.

Soak your corn in big red and let it sit out in the heat for a couple of days.

Put a trap door on the other side as well so they don't feel contained.

Get them used to coming in the trap for a couple of days.

Get some old tires. Put the feed in tires - the piglets get a lot of it easily, but the sows have to move the tires to get rest of the corn.

Do this every other or 3rd day for a couple of weeks to habituate them to it. Monitor.

Eventually, set trap and kill.
I know a lot about a little, and a little about a lot.

Address?

Have thermal will travel.

Or dogs.

Hogs are not territorial at all. Run em/hassle em and they will move on

Get a 5 gallon bucket, fill 1/2 with corn, put in a couple of fruit punch Kool aide packets, pour 3 or 4 beers in it and then put the lid back on it. Drill 5-10 1/2" holes in the lid. Place it in the trap, they can't resist it.

A few weeks of thermal hunting will shift them out. We hunted a place (several hundred acres) most of the summer and probably killed 30 but saw 3x that. Now they are a lot more scarce and rooting pastures alot less. We've mostly seen them at feeders.

I invite as many guys from Texags to come out and shoot every one of them! Texags works!
