I have two Duromax dual fuel ( Gas/Propane) and one will only run on gas. The other generator runs on both. Any one have ideas on where to start?

Can you adjust the regulator?

Probably a hung up regulator. My advice to you would be to jack with it next week when it's not crucial. Use gas in it for this rodeo.

Check the quick connect for the propane. Make sure it is clicking in well.

Does it have a battery? Mine won't start on propane without a battery to do the electronic choke - and I have to make sure the battery is topped off.

If you connect the propane to the port with a primed hose, and run the generator on gas - if you switch it over to propane will it continue to run? They both have to be hooked up when you start it so you just switch over while it's running

This, my pull start doesn't want to start on propane but starts right up on gas, switch to propane and it runs fine.

Did you get it running on propane? Just curious what you found, if you figured it out.

I have their tri fuel and the first start of the year only works on gasoline and the battery needs to be topped off.

I'll keep a trickle charger on it, put a gallon of gas in and let it run to empty, then switch it to nat gas. I've had to do this the last two years and it runs just fine after getting warmed up.

I have just the opposite. Mine will run on propane but not gas. Odd.

Just waking up after coming home from EMS shift and will get around to trouble shooting the generator and report back.

Forget the generator and just go hang out at the station with the on duty crew.

Ask them if it's been quiet since you got off shift!

Do any of you all use anything to keep engine block and oil on portable generators warm for easier start? Our power went off last night and I had a hard time starting even w fully charged battery. Still was grinding to turn over.
Thinking about keeping a heat lamp on it or or near it when it starts getting really cold. Then quickly get set up and running when power goes out.

just keeping it inside a garage should keep it warmer, my garage isnt heated, but it is insulated an it stays around 50-55 F when its below freezing outside. I also have 2 small space heaters in the garage and can warm it up if needed, the generator is stored in the garage, no issues with starting it when its in the garage.

Yes mine is in garage but not much help. No insulation and high roof deck. Cold as hell in there. I'll try the heat lamp. Thx
