I'm looking for good, reliable, hard-wired security cameras/system that has two settings: "on" and "off"; such that they're essentially on & recording all the time. I thought I'd seek recommendations here at The Source.

For clarity, Blink is a no-go. We've had it for five years or so, and the engineering term that best describes its performance is, "it sucks the high hard one": it's sporadic at best (does a great job capturing the elbow of the person who triggered it as he exits the field of view); its cameras' sensitivity is too unstable, and the juice just isn't worth the squeeze as far as the recording goes.

Thanks in advance!

I use Lorex and like it. Has POE connections so no need for separate Ethernet and power lines. Good night vision. Have the 2TB so it records for a few weeks before overwriting.

For simplicity, Lorex is great. I had one for years before I upgraded to a UniFi PoE system. Absolutely love my UniFi but while simple to install and operate isn't the cheapest and not worth the cost if you want a completely offline system.

I made a similar thread this year and ended up investing into a Uniquiti system. Really like their ecosystem; everything just seems to work really well together. Camera quality is great. Easy to access on computer or phone. Easy for my wife to use.
Can do neat things like adding a viewer by the front door displaying your outside camera.

Have Lorex, and it's is great, but would love to upgrade to Ubiquiti since I use all their networking equipment throughout the house
