Amy recommendations for places inside the loop to get a Honda EU2000i a full service/overhaul?

I've had this generator since 2007 and I've kept up with general maintenance (oil changes, filters, etc) and it's been a great little generator over the years. Started out as a tailgate generator and the last 10 years has been my power backup for the fridge during storms.

That said, she's starting to run rough and I have to keep the choke on full at all times or it stalls out. If my research is correct, likely needs a carb service and all the gaskets likely need to be changed out due to dry rot. I'm handy but definitely not an engine guy. Thanks for any input.

You trying to do this today before the bad weather or just looking for a place to take it at some point later?

Just having the carb replaced will probably fix all your issues.

Honda motors don't have junk chinesium carbs. They can be rebuilt. I'd rebuild an OEM quality carb vs buying a new one. Chinese junk will be cheaper but OEM new will absolutely not be.

One other thing and you may already do this

Ethanol free gas
When machine is running turn the gas off and stand beside it so that you can also move to choke to get that last gas

Also I do it and probably others items out there but I always pour b12 in my gas tank when setting up over time

I had paint rigs that sit for years and start right up

No. It still runs pretty good for the moment. Just doing a little routine maintenance on it this morning reminded me I want to get it done between now and summer.

You should be able to find it at autozone.

Youmay get lucky and add about 1/4 tank of b12 and it may clean the crap out of your carb

I doubt it but worth a try

I've used these guys before on a lawnmower and they do solid work but they're usually pretty backed up.

I've got two 2012 EU2000s that were doing the exact same thing.

I bought two new Honda carbs. Replaced them on both and they ran like new. Wasn't going to waste money on the cheap Chinese ones on Amazon.

I think each carb was around $100.

Watched a YouTube video to make sure I watched someone do it first. Took about 15 minutes on the first one and half the time on the second.

It's pretty easy and straight forward.

Got mine overhauled because it only ran on choke as well. I took off the carb and tried cleaning it as well but ended up needing a whole new one and gaskets.

I'm in Pearland and not sure the local guy here is open tomorrow.

Rios Lawn Mower Service inside Beltway 8 on Clay Road, 10100 clay road, 713 996-7919. It's usually $100 to 150 to install a carb repair kit.. he's done 4-5 generators for me over the years. Takes a few weeks to get it back

Here's a great video to follow, about as easy as a small engine maintenance can possibly be. I'd argue every able body/minded person should be able to do this if you own one. Literally the difference between the unit working or not. What happens if it stops working away from a repair shop? It's less than 20 min of work to run like a champ again.

The jet typically cakes/plugs with debris and is my most common culprit of the rough operation as you describe. Easy to clean with a small safety pin or straightened paper clip, especially if you don't have carb cleaver/compressed air available.

I should replace the gasket he refers to, but never have without issue. I never use the fuel line clamp either. Just drain it to the ground or catch pan.

Thank you. I'm good at watching videos and following instructions. I think I'll go this route.

Thanks all for the input.
