Has really surprised me. He was out on the back deck lounging around in the light dusting of snow yesterday. When I take him for a walk in cold weather I'm ready to get back home way before he is.

We know they were bred as swamp dogs so why the cold tolerance? I suppose what other breed he has in him may be a factor but his features and personality all lean strongly toward Catahoula tendencies .

Our catahoula has enjoyed his walks the past couple days. But he hasn't voluntarily dedicated much time being outside in the cold.

I think mine might like the cold & water more if I had not failed as her owner. We brought here home on the Saturday after Winter Storm Uri. Upon arriving, the wife said take the puppy outside so she can potty. I did. It was dark, and I heard "SPLASH"....she (puppy not the wife) fell in the pool. All my fault. That dog hates water and cold weather.

This Catahoula mix was a rescue and we have reasons to believe he spent some of last yrs winter outside . Normally I'd think that would be enough to make him hate the cold but it may have done the reverse by acclimating him to the cold.

Well dad gum dad, chasin them cats is hard work!!
