Anyone been here lately? Thinking about taking a couple of my girls to fish Saturday. But I see Somerville level is about 3.5ft low. Just wondering if there's enough water to get into possibly crappie or whites.

I'm probably headed to Conroe then for crappie spawn. Friend of mine catching some good ones in the canals.

You might page Trip98 here on the OB about Conroe. I believe he lives around there.
During Covid Conroe was heavily overfished and the Crappie populations were really impacted. That in conjunction with the heavy use of ffs has caused many of the Crappie guides to cease doing Crappie trips to try to allow populations to recover.
Trip98 is very knowledgeable on the above and can maybe offer some advice.

None of the creeks even connect to the lake right now. The BRA and the COE let all the water out at the end of Sept and ruined duck season and the spring fishing. Lake was 6" below pool at the time and the let out 2' of pool. It will take a true flood event to get the level back any time soon. I don't see why they can't raise the minimum pool if they are just going to let all the water all the water out every time it get too pool.
