IMO, one of the best micro 380acp pistols, performance and price, and $200 is a deal.
10+1 capacity, a trigger much better than expected, tritium front sight.
I've had mine for 4+ yrs, after using the original LCP.
With Speer GD ammo, it has been 100% reliable.

I really like this little gun. It's super snappy and honestly can't hit a target past 15 yards. But, if the boogey man gets within a few yards, confident it will take care of business, Very reliable in my experience. This is one I will always keep.

I carry mine more than any other carry gun I have. Mainly because I have a pocket holster and its so easy to carry.

I have one and it jams. I asked on the forum what to do with it and basically I was told to throw it in a river and buy a new one

I like them, but the trigger is kinda "meh". The stock trigger has a groove that runs all the way to the tip, and is known for trigger bite (unless they have fixed it in the last 1-2 years). The 75th Anniversary model they made, had a different trigger design, and doesn't have that issue (likely because no groove at tip).

Hopefully, it won't affect you, but an Mcarbo trigger will cure it, if you do.

What is the difference between this and the LCP Custom that came out about 12 or so years ago and corrected the horrible trigger on the original? I still have that one.

Went to the local gun store to pick one up and also held the S&W bodyguard 2.0. It felt much better in every way compared to the LCP Max. But. I have not shot either. I still have and carry the original LCP with its 3-5 business days of trigger pull.
Any is there any comparison between the 2? Is the bodyguard worth the extra $150-200 or is the LCP Max good enough?

I had one with the same issue. I tried 6-7 brands of ammo with the same results. I contacted Ruger and they told me to ship it to them.
In about five weeks they informed me they could not repair it and sent me a new one.
It shot fine but I sold it shortly thereafter. From what I've learned is they are inexpensive for Ruger to build and you can get one that is bad or you can get one that is good.
I guess that's ok as long as Ruger stands behind them.
I have always liked their longarms but never really cared for any of their wheel guns or semi auto pistols except their " Old Army" SA black powder.

I have both the LCP Max and the Bodyguard 2.0. Please keep in mind that a lot of the following is subjective in nature, and based on a sample size of one each. As far as comparison goes, the BG doesn't rattle when you shake it. The BG's trigger has much less travel and has a lighter pull weight, making it hugely better than that of the Max. The BG handles a lot better than the Max. Not that the Max is debilitating - it's just that the BG's grip length and lower bore axis just makes it more pleasing to shoot. The difference is very noticeable. The only place where the Max is better is the front night sight, which is larger in diameter and therefore a bit easier to pick up upon presentation.

As for worth, if all you care about is pulling a trigger and having a bullet suddenly appear on a reliable basis, then no - the extra money is not worth it. The Max is just as reliable as the BG. But IMO the difference is indeed worth it, as the BG is just that much nicer to shoot. I will be selling my Max, as for my purposes it just does not compete in any way with my BG.

YMMV.

p.s. My BG does not reliably feed ammo with the Underwood Extreme Penetrator fluted (for an immediate lack of a better term) bullets. I have not tried these in the Max.

When I bought my LCP, Ruger had already used its LC9 style trigger in it, which made it immensely better than the Taurus, KelTec, or the original LCP?
Then the LCP Max came out, same trigger, maybe I'm just lucky, but it's light, a little mushy, but very predictable. Under duress, it just needs to be easy enough to shoot, without pulling the aim off target.
I have experienced the "trigger bite", an occasional pinch point at the trigger/frame junction.
