After years of seeing Capt Grem post on this board and appreciating his contributions and knowledge, I finally scheduled a quick trip with him on Saturday.

The trip was really for my two daughters (10 & 12) after we had an East TX crappie trip cancelled due to weather. I wanted to get them on some fish and have a good time on the water and my FIL's boat is also in the shop for the next 2 months or so.

Capt Grem was incredibly knowledgeable, accommodating, and extremely patient with the girls. We probably lost a few extra hooks and weights snagging them in the rocks that we shouldn't have, but it was never a problem for him. It was a battle just to keep the hooks baited most of the morning!

We ended up 1 shy of our limit of sheepshead but we lost 7-8 fish at the boat that we should have landed. Me and the kids just couldn't get a few of them quite directed into the net. 1 extra fish wouldn't have changed anything about the trip though - it was great!

We even timed the return to the ramp just in time for the ice cream truck!

TLDR - go fish with Grem, kids or not, and you'll have a great time! My only regret is that I waited this long to book a trip with him but I'll be back before too long!

It was good meeting you and your sweet girls at the ramp. I can tell you all had a blast and came home with some great eating fish. It was good catching up with Grem, as always, too.

Glad your crew had fun. You guys are doing a great job guiding them as they were a treat to have on the boat. Great great kiddos. Hope I get to have them back out many many times. Thanks so much for sharing the family time out with me.
