Mom believes some strange things are happening around her house/yard at night. Would like some recommendations for security camera installation. Not decided on brand/type, so broad experience and ability to discuss options is a plus.

I"m about to dump ours. They are local and they suck royally. I'm not giving out any names but I'll never use this realtor's advice again.

What we did was put Ring doorbell cameras on both rear and front doors and we can see about 2/3rds of the yard. We also have one Arlo inside when we travel out of town and this works for us.

literally zero reason to get hard wired these days.
And I have a hard wired system

For simplicity sake, I would get the Arlo, Wyze or Eufy.

Set up a tablet in the kitchen so that the cameras could be viewed there.

Also, the ability for you to watch remotely, if you wanted, is a cool feature.

Want Mom to have several options on where to view the camera output from (TV, tablet, PC, etc.) and greatly prefer no cloud storage fees/subscriptions.

I had a couple of Eufy (first gen from their kickstarter campaign) cameras at my last house, and was pretty pleased with them, but figure there are advancements. Hope the company rep can bring me up to speed on her options.

Never heard of a rep installing Eufy, only their expensive proprietary options...

simple to buy Arlo, Ring, Wyze, etc from Best Buy and have geek squad install

Let's just say, I was impressed that day.

Just used 808 technologies today. They were fantastic and didn't gouge me. Had cameras, alarm, smart locks and smart thermostat installed. Everything operates on one app and easy to use.
