Was out there a while back…Geeze has it run down compared to its original early 90's glory.

I know money doesn't grow on trees. Is it destined to continue to fall deeper into disrepair, or is there a chance it gets rehabilitated?

Now that Aggie Park is the bees knees, I doubt that they put a ton into it until someone starts a fundraising campaign. I would guess they are just going to keep it as a disc golf area.

No inside information, just guesses.

Was wondering about that…The lake is full of debris, weeds and covered with moss, erosion is out of control, and the wooden retaining walls (everywhere) are rotted out like meth mouth. It's bad.

Maybe someone can compel a BMA to slap their name on it for an endowment?

Throw a few dinosaurs statues out there and maybe we can lure: "Myles Garrett's Research Park"? ;-p

Before the Leach Teaching Gardens, there were gardens back near the Hensel radio tower, behind what is now the Gardens Apartments.

Go see what kind of shape that area is in.

Howdy Farm? We know most of that is gone. What's left is not pretty.

Keeping up areas that don't get a lot of eyeballs is not a priority.

I'd like to see it become the home of fraternity houses.
Seriously.

Its a system issue. They could throw a few million at it. I honestly think they forgot about it with RELLIS.

Fraternity houses on campus?

Yeah. No.

It is eventually destined to be a number of additional buildings there and there really is not reason to spend much money maintaining the grounds.

Good points. I guess usage patterns have changed with time and a new generation. Being that it's located at the West side door to main campus, I'm just surprised it's of little interest to anyone nowadays.

The reasoning behind my statement is that, in my opinion, it could be a great thing. They aren't "in the woods," so to speak, and could be patrolled by UPD, thereby eliminating the nefarious behavior, and have some nice housing for the frats.

I'm sure the frats will refrain from their usual alcohol fueled hazing gatherings, among other things they have made the news for in our town.

UPD has enough to patrol already without being asked to babysit a bunch of drunk minors who use daddy's credit card to have Favor deliver booze.

Many of the Frats have built new buildings off campus and/or moved and remodeled. A few have leased location out in the boon-docks so that they can be left alone and not bother anyone.

In seeing the grounds after parties, I doubt that most would want to move onto campus to be "patrolled by UPD."

When I was in school, the university wouldn't even let frats have a meeting on campus. And then there were the enforcers in Davis Gary who saw to it.

My wife and I go walk there sometimes. It really is terrible compared to what it was in the 1990s. I was there just a few weeks ago and thought the same thing as the OP.

The bottom one should be the BAS statue or BASS!

before cell phones, we used to prank call our pissheads' dorm rooms from the emergency phones that are next to the sidewalks out there.

It's not called Hazing anymore. It's called Character Building.

If the houses were on University property, there wouldn't be any alcohol in the house, and they couldn't have parties. Violators would be removed.

You can have alcohol on campus if you are of age. Trying to constantly police that would be exhausting.
