Ha. Sorry. To "relax". Like I'm from East Texas and there's a place in Tyler that's like a wine bar, that serves food with patio seating and yard games. Very chilled and laid back.

Maybe Wildflyer Mead and Beer Co in Navasota? I think their farm location has an outdoor area, but they also have a location in downtown Navasota

Casa do Brazil is great. They have an all season patio and a nice bar, plus happy hour specials that I think are pretty reasonable. You can also snack from the menu or order the salad bar instead of their full experience.

Uncorked in south CS.
Wineries around the area as the weather warms up.

Downtown Navasota has greatly improved in the last few years. Rail and Rye has a nice rooftop bar (might be a little chilly tonight), and Red Board Tavern is impressive. As mentioned, Carney's is a local hangout and has nicely expanded their outdoor area.

If you go to Nav, the Rail & Rye restaurant is very nice and has a rooftop patio area that is nice to sit and relax in.

Downtown Bryan's first Monday is nice.

I also see a lot of people waking Century Sqare in the evenings when the temps are mild.

Hush and Whisper in downtown Bryan is very nice and chill. The bar at the Lasalle (post makeover) is very nice too.

There's a nice meadery outside of Navasota. Aggie owned & operated, too.

Wildflyer.

They recently opened a location in downtown Navasota but I like the country-fied one better.

Great weather this weekend.

Check it out.

But mead is terrible.

Go to Threshold Vineyards that's close to there instead.

Carney's is a great neighborhood pub and grill. Nice outdoor area if you want to be outside. Plenty of room. Very reasonable drink prices. Good food. Highly recommend.

Yeah I've always thought of Carney's as a frat boy hangout. I know they have added all that outdoor seating but thought the crowd was still lots of college kids.

My belief comes from going there 20-30 years ago. I haven't been since...

The current owners de-fratted (intentionally) Carneys years ago. It very much is a locals (with some older students) hangout now. I'd say a solid percent of folks I see there regularly are 45 years old and up. Lots of townies and older TAMU FOLKS (faculty and grad students).

I remember at as a frat bar too, and a few stories from those days.

Maybe I don't stay late enough to find out but I've never thought of Carney's as a frat hangout. I generally try to avoid that crowd and Carney's is one of our spots if we ever get a wild hair and want to get out of the house.

That might be true on weekday evenings, but on a recent Friday evening, we stopped by about 9:00-ish, found one of two remaing tables, and a quick scan had the crowd easily pegged as almost all college aged.
That evening was too cold for outside seating.

Always great drinks and food, but definitely (that evening) not a demographic of "older" patrons.

Another vote for Uncorked. Plus, next door to Marfa's so you can eat dinner there and then go next door to sip wine, cocktails or your favorite spirit.

DeepRoots Vinyards on 249 (around 40 miles from BCS/C-Stat/SoCo) has a lot of live music events. I've never tried their wine but it's a fun place.

Went to Carney's a few weeks ago with my parents and a few aunts/uncles/cousins. The outdoor area is awesome

Forgot about The Owl, downtown Bryan. Def not an undergraduate crowd.
