How long do you want to ignore this user?
Is there any track in BCS that is open to the public now. Trying to find a place to help my daughter improve. This is besides during school. Like on the weekends and after hours schooldays. She is on a non school team so we get one or two practices with them. Looking to find a place to get some other practice in. College Stations are either all closed or under construction. Bryan, the only one I found open, it really is not used for a track anymore so jumping pits are in disrepair and track is not suitable to wear spikes on?

Not sure why they close these to the public since we pay for them. You would think they would let the public use them after hours.

Thanks for any help

I'm not sure if it still is or not, but when I lived in Edelweiss (10+ years ago) the track at College Station Middle School was open when I lived there.

I think reasoning behind closing them is two fold: the first thing is liability. They don't want someone to fall down, get hurt, and sue. And second is they don't want their expensive rubberized track (or at least, more expensive than the old cinder tracks)

no more liability than they had last year when it was open to everyone. Homes school and club programs used that track to practice as well after CSMC had finished their practices.

Can't help you OP but jumping in to see if there are some options. BH used to be open but then you would see idiot kids riding their bikes all over the track and field. It stunk for the rest of us that used it appropriately. The middle school by Austin's Colony has a decent track but the other areas are pretty bad.

It is getting harder and harder to find a decent place to run. I get tired of the gym and don't feel safe anymore on the roads.

we try to use that track for running, you definitely can't wear spikes on it as it is a pretty hard surface now. And you are correct on the jumping area as it is totally destroyed.

The park by Johnson Elementary in Bryan has a rubber track but I wouldn't use spikes on it. It is much easier on the knees of us "older people" than the sidewalks and streets.
