I got a new car after my car was totaled during the storm over Spring Break. Does anyone have any recommendations for a hail cover? I can't fit it in my garage. Thanks!

Look on Amazon and study the reviews. Make sure you can check your car's model for fit.

You might be able to find what you need at our local stores but I imagine there was a run on them after the last hailpocalypse

When I didn't have a garage or carport, I would lay a two inch piece of foam on the car and them a heavy tarp on it. Worked for years.

You need a Porte cochere in front of your garage.

Have family in the Dallas area and they leave the outside vehicle in a parking garage every time there's a chance of hail. Pita, but so is hail damage.

It's hard to do that when the storm comes in at 3am unexpectedly.

This is probably worth looking at. put on a few think blankets on first.

I've seen people put plywood over the trucks. Nobody in Texas uses their garage....

If you live in Amarillo you have two choices .... park in the garage or drive a dimpled darlin.

I've noticed that many people in Aggieland prefer to store junk in their garage instead of their car. Makes no sense to me.

Guilty. Although I've purged some of it. Need to purge more. It usually goes better if I'm the only one home when doing that.

Modern life requires stuff. We don't live in an area with soils conducive to basements, and my house was built with PITA attic access. And it's old, so the garage is not long enough for what we drive now.

So we'd either have to rent a storage unit or build a car port.

Until a few months ago when I built my own house, I'd never lived in a home that had a big enough garage (depth or door height) to fit an F250. Now I have a 30x40 with two 10' doors.

Then you redneck it and put the front in the garage and leave the bed outside. Buy a huge tarp and run it from the top of your garage over the bed. Sleep in the bed if you want to be able to find your truck later when the tornado hits. Maybe tie yourself down as well.

Otherwise, watch the weather and leave your truck at some parking garage and uber it home.

If you can do hail prep, now is the time. My meteorology friends are giving me a heads up about the line moving south our way tonight. HOPEFULLY just good rain.

Looks like just rain. DFW got this earlier and I believe it was just rain. I think we might get a little deluge here, though. It won't be a gentle rain.

We got a little pea sized hail at our house last night, but nothing horrible or damaging

put a few moving tarps on the car and then get a 20' x 40' tarp at Lowes. That's what I do. Works fine.

Anyone build a carport in front of their garage. I see some of these around town mostly in older neighborhoods where trucks wont fit in the one car garage. Whats the code regulations on those?

Well if OP is in Bryan they are in luck.

I don't think we have any codes for anything.

Cow in a neighborhood. No problem. Go ahead.
