COLLEGE STATION, Texas (KBTX) - U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Brooke Rollins and U.S. Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. will visit College Station this Tuesday, April 29, to discuss food security and highlight efforts by America's farmers to "Make America Healthy Again."
The visit coincides with a major political milestone the 100th day of President Donald Trump's second term in office.
Rollins, a Texas A&M University graduate, is scheduled to begin the day at 8:30 a.m. with a visit to the Texas A&M Beef Center. There, she will take part in a closed-press roundtable discussion focused on the New World Screwworm, an agricultural pest that has posed serious threats to livestock. Media will be allowed to capture footage at the beginning of the roundtable, and Secretary Rollins will offer brief remarks to reporters afterward.
Later in the morning, Rollins will be joined by Secretary Kennedy for a tour of several Texas A&M research facilities. The pair will visit cutting-edge laboratories in the Norman E. Borlaug Building, receive a briefing on the Grand Nutrition Challenge at the Institute for Advancing Health Through Agriculture, and tour the AgriLife Phenotyping Greenhouse. A joint media availability is scheduled following the tour, starting at 11:00 a.m. at the greenhouse facility.
