Seems from news reporting it will be both city and county locations. Anyone find a map indicating just exactly where ? The only page I could find on Comcast had a 404 error message…I'm betting BrazosWiFi knows ….

They quoted 70,000 households in the kbtx article and implied rural but I'm not sure.

There are approx 69,740 broadband locations in Brazos county based on the government data we use to submit our coverage areas every year.

It strongly looks like they are planning to do the whole county but who knows. The broadband data could be skewed by the number of apartment units, I'm not really sure. If each apartment counts as a broadband eligible location, the 70,000 may only be the cities.

Rural fiber builds have a long ROI. Especially ones that already have fiber providers in place. I don't know how much of an appetite they will have for take rates less than 25%. That will push their ROI out to 20-30 years.

Nobody knows their actual plan.

My post above has some hints as to what they *might* do.

I'm curious if the recent story is them coming to just "B/CS" with the numbers they gave. I'm in Navasota, and they have reached out to our HOA saying they are coming in the near future.

I agree. I can't imagine the entire county. Think of those long stretches of pastureland going south toward Navasota. Or the Brazos Bottom over by Mumford. Or the distant stretches of OSR toward B-5 and the Navasota. That's miles and miles with few subdivisions.

They posted a press release many months ago that I can't seem to find on my phone.

I think they were doing Huntsville, Navasota, BCS, & Brenham in a big loop.

The mainline fiber was installed many months ago. You can see their fully orange (as opposed to white with orange cap) marker poles along the route.

I put my address in their website last week and this is what it said. Not sure if that really means it will be available at my house.

Our service isn't available to you just yet, but sit tight - things are in the works

They plan to be as far south as Peach Creek Cut Off and as far north as OSR, including neighborhoods around Lake Bryan. To the west they will go down Hwy 21 to just past the RELLIS campus. Not sure how far east off of Hwy 6 they will go, but I know that 2223 to Mancuso Rd and down Mancuso Rd will be included. TAMU really pushed for them to come in.

The HUB is built and operational. It is just behind the new convenience store being built on Hwy 60 in the Aggieland Business Park right past 47 going towards Snook.

I tried this link https://www.xfinity.com/mytown, but the state dropdown is empty so it didn't work.
