Who makes the best? I've only had them at one place in town and they were horrible.

I usually only do breakfast at Stella's but I'll give it a try.
Marfa's is one of our favorites. Never tried the shrimp and grits though.
Popcorn Shrimp at Red's is probably in my top 5 dishes in the area. Kids are getting tired of going there though. I probably need to lay off the IPAs as well.

Ragin Cajun in Houston has the best I have had. Also Drago's in NOLA. No one around here makes good shrimp and grits with tasso and red eye gravy.
I had some at JLM's chicken and waffles in Bryan. I don't even like grits, but she brought them out free to the table and I was shocked how much I actually enjoyed them. Highly recommend.
While definitely not traditional, I like Walk-Ons' Voodoo Shrimp and Grits.
I like Stella fine. I'm usually disappointed most places because I think the shrimp is overcooked

Had shrimp and Grits yesterday at First Watch. Part of their seasonal menu. It was pretty good.
