What is going on with Rock Prairie Road east?
I get that portions of it are going to get resurfaced, but why were portions of the road scraped down to the rock base, and then left in that condition? Workers were present for one day last week, but there has been zero progress after the road being left in this condition for what seems like two weeks.

Welcome to the world of highway construction.

You have to have 8 guys standing around watching one guy work. From what I hear, they can only find 6 guys to watch one guy work. That appears to be the hold up.

It has added some excitement to my commute. Lots of northbound traffic wants to avoid the rough road. Naturally, they drive in wrong lane. Hills and blind curves be damned.

The soil is trash so it takes longer to pass inspections.

While not at light speed - I do think BPI has been better than many project contractors in having a significant number out actually working most days. I'm not saying it would make me happy at a private project of my own …..

Is that a COCS project or Brazos County? Either way they seem to be ahead of schedule!

Over a week ago, and on the only day that I saw workers out there, COCS trucks were present.

This is a joke.

I drive through Williams Creek now.

They have now put black patches over the potholes that were created by them tearing out the roads.

What a ****ing clown show, city incompetence at its finest. Putting a wet bandaid over a crater instead of resurfacing. Any takers on how many weeks this will last We're going on week 4 now.

That section is an old 2 lane county road that, like another poster mentioned, has some really really poor soils. It needs to be capitalized and completely redone - extend the ROW, stabilize the base/grade/subgrade, lay down extensive RCP pipe and/or box culverts, concrete surface, multi use paths, etc - similar to what you are seeing from BSW to Bird Pond currently. However, with the amount of trucking and development that was/is occurring out there and the amount of money it would take to capitalize that section of Rock Prairie (from WDF to County), the time/timing, money and logistics were not 100% conducive to doing it. Yes, performing levels-up, repairing base failures and doing minor resurfacing was probably the best course of action recently…

It is a city project. There is not enough money in the current budget to do it correctly to match the other sections of roadway like what is to the west of Fitch. This is more of an emergency repair as is, because the city was hoping to put it off a bit longer to do it right.

You'll be hard pressed to find a City with better than roads than CS. You can gripe about pot holes, construction taking to long..blah blah blah. No City has better roads than CS. Not that I have ever seen...and I have looked

Emergency repair? It is currently worse than it was before the band-aid fix.

If they hadn't annexed that far out, the city wouldn't be on the hook for it.

A lot. I have been all over Texas. I have been a civil engineer for 20 years. I notice these things and CS sticks out as one of the cleanest, nicest, most well-maintained cities. Go put in a see click fix....see how fast someone gets back to you. The City employees care and they work hard to keep it nice.

The streets are not full of pot holes. There are a TON of roadway projects underway right now, just look at the CS Capital improvements projects website.

The City is working to improve the road and people will complain. People in this town are insufferable. Complain about traffic...complain about construction...what are we complaining about today??

What happened here is just plain stupid.
It would have been fine to just fill in with asphalt, and move on.
