I've got my vehicle over at one of the big 3 service houses today for routine oil change. Vehicle just has 35,000 miles on it. I asked them to change the oil and they called me 30 minutes later with recommendations for 4 separate completely unnecessary service jobs.

I checked the vehicle's maintenance schedule and none of their suggested up-sales is anywhere on the list. Last time I had the vehicle there they spilled oil all over the engine compartment and when I got home it dripped all over my garage floor, staining the floor and leading to a pressure spray. I thought it was the drain plug but when I opened the hood up, oil was spilled everywhere and it was dripping in the front of the vehicle under the radiator.

So, I'm looking for a local mechanic to take over routine maintenance. I'm looking for someone with reasonable/fair pricing, who is good at their job, who treats my vehicles like their own, and doesn't try to up-sale me every time I come through the door.

I used Sevcik's years ago, but was interested in other recommendations. I live in south C.S.

Honestly, I really like Mobil1 on Wm J Bryan. They have always been honest about what is needed, what isnt, and have given me advice on random issues I could fix myself for WAY cheaper than other places. Especially if you are just needing a service center, and not a full mechanic shop.

I use Christian brothers and have had nothing but positive experiences. They do one of those inspections at time of oil change, but I have never once been recommended something without proof of it needing done and are not very pushy about additional services.

Leon is and always will be the best.
