What happened to Mad Taco? It seemed very successful at its original location and was replaced by a grilled cheese sandwich restaurant. Then moved to South College Station but is no longer open.

I dont know, but my over cautious conservative nature cost me again. I have a $30 gift card to Mad Taco that I was saving for at least 5 years.
He had stuff all over for a minute, even a pizza joint that he took over after Paisano's relocated.
He cited post-Covid recovery and price of ingredients for closing the South College Station location, if I recall correctly.
At least at La Bodega's opening, he was supplying their margarita mix. His latest project is the restaurant at Phillips Event Center

Peter, my brother in law and long time friend, does indeed supply our margarita mix at La Bodega!
Deciding between a Mad Rita and a Bodega Shaker is about the toughest beverage dilemma you could ever have. Appreciate yall!
We used to frequent the new LaBodega all the time on Tuesdays when they had the $2 margs! It's a great patio!

I miss the Tuesday chicken taco special.
We've had that special back for a few months now!! We've got a lot of things happening soon. Lots of changes and lots of promos along with big screen LED jumbotron outside and the bar has been expanded! The drink specials will be very agressive.

Ate there for the first time two weeks ago. It was awesome. Definitely will be going back for more.
I feel like Covid did Mad taco in.
La Bodega is great and I can't wait to try Mojo Tortilla but if you truly are craving Mad Taco, there are a few items from their menu on the lunch menu at Phillips Event Center.

Peter did Mad Taco in, and that's not a criticism. He pretty much said so himself at the time he changed it to "Mad Melt." Often local restaurant folks try out new concepts that interest them, discard the old ones, and sometimes that works and sometimes it doesn't. Peter would be no means be the first around here to do that and won't be the last. His tacos were great, and I'm glad I enjoyed my share of them while they lasted. I wish him all the best at the Phillips Center (which I still have yet to visit, but plan on it soon).
I remember the Marg Mix making an appearance at The Cove...maybe last summer? I forget. It was nice.
