I have tried everything for lower back pain. Here is how I would rate what is offered, from best to worst. My experience may be different (of course) than others:
-exercise, losing weight, strengthening core, stretching (esp the Mackenzie method), foam roller (all at home)
-at home TENS machine
-massages
-massage gun
-heat therapy and ointments
-chiropractor adjustments
-decompression
-cupping
-acupuncture (did nothing for me)

Good luck. Lower back pain is the worst, but I will do everything I can to avoid surgery. I have heard of so few good outcomes after lower back surgery.

I've had really good results using a red light therapy belt.

May I ask if your insurance covered it?

This was years ago and they did.
I don't have that insurance any longer. My insurance sucks now.

Dana at Guggenheim Acupuncture is great. I don't go for back pain but I suspect she would be able to help you. She does not take insurance, that I am aware of. Good luck!

Are you looking for acupuncture or dry needling?

Acupuncture.

Update: went with Bioenergetics in the building next to Fritella as they had an appt slot available (I do appreciate the other suggestions, thank you!).

I am very skeptical of alternative medicine but I will attest that after one session I feel vastly better. Less pain, more mobility. Not back to normal…this will take time, but so far I'm super impressed. We'll see how future sessions go.

Always felt like modern medicine does great with acute medical issues but chronic medical issues are more effective with alternative medicine options. I get a lot of good results with periodic chiropractic adjustments and alittle bit of dry needling on problematic muscle knots in my upper back (near shoulder blades).

TAMU BCBSTX insurance covered my acupuncture at Cashion and DeLeon Chiropractic.

Dr DeLeon did mine several years ago. Call and ask as it may be insurance dependent.

This place did take BCBS and a standard co pay, so happy about that. My PPO also signed off on me getting this treatment.
