He transferred in trying to get into construction science but the school lumped him into university studies. He's still kinda pissed about it

Tell him not to worry too much about being university studies. Having certain degrees definitely helps open doors but networking, putting in good work, and constantly seeking new challenges and opportunities for growth can overcome just about everything. My wife and I are university studies majors and we are both extremely happy with where we are at in our careers.

Did some phone interviews with y'all a while back and my recruiter was AWFUL. Had a phone interview pending for weeks that he somehow couldn't manage to schedule, then eventually got an email asking how I found the recruitment process. I was very honest

Considering some of the questionably skilled people I have encountered working as construction project supers on site visits I have made, I think anyone with some initiative and willing to put in the time every day could do well. You do have to be willing to travel around the region the construction business covers, from project to project.
