Moving to Georgetown and have noticed very spotty cell service with Xfinity Mobile(uses Verizon towers). Data fails to load more than half the time it seems like when looking up directions, football scores, etc. How is AT&T? Any others to look at?

AT&T is the only way to go in the hill country. Verizon is trash especially a little further west.

T-Mobile was really good until this last year. I have no idea what happened. Only reason I haven't switched yet is that T-Mobile is the best at my deer lease.

tldr summary - all the cell networks in the area currently suck.

I spend a lot of time just outside of RR and GT. I was on a Verizon MVNO and had terrible service. My signal strength was fine but it seemed like they were throttling my connection consistently. And I don't use hardly any data. I had great reception but couldn't access data on their network. I was on Red Pocket at the time. It was fine pre-pandemic but when I switched I wasn't able to use my phone for anything other than phone calls. Figured it was either Red Pocket or Verizon that was causing the issue so switched.

I ended up switching to T-Mobile and surprisingly it isn't horrible but at times, I do have issues as well. At work, the tower closest to me is probably down every couple of months. My wife is on Cricket (ATT) and she seems to have been having issues lately too.
