Hoping folks who are in the know can sound off on driving conditions around Forth Worth and around the airport. We have to drive from Granbury (southwest of Fort Worth up 377) to the airport tomorrow afternoon and just trying to get an idea of what I up against.

I wouldn't count on that flight arriving and/or departing.
Yeah pretty sure AA and SW have grounded everything tomorrow around here
You might be right, but flight departs in the early evening and is international so I'm thinking there's at least a 50% chance.

Had a short drive (5 min) in SW Ft Worth about an hour ago. Sleet was starting to cover the road and was getting slick.

At 3 AM. I'd say you're kinda f-ed.
Just drove from west FW toward downtown and it took not much longer than my normal commute. 30 wasn't bad.

What's your flight status? Turn on local news you can see the roadways.
I mean the roads are covered with sleet but we stayed in the previously made tire tracks in the middle of the highway and traveled slowly. If we were going through an intersection we tried.to coast to a stop or pass through if no one was coming. If you actively brake you will feel your car slipping.
DFW airport is officially closed until 11 AM.

I feel your pain on that one...I had my baby during last year's winter storm and it was stressful and scary and crazy. We got induced early to avoid the inevitable road closures and luckily got a hotel room near the hospital the night before because we like so many others had no power and I was 41 weeks pregnant and miserable enough. And then while we were in the hospital a pipe in our house burst and flooded our first floor. So we came home with a newborn to a trashed first floor and a boil water order. It sucked. I hope your adventure is less stressful than ours was!
Wife and I are in the same boat. We darn near went to the hospital at 2 this morning after a stout wave of contractions. Hopefully she cuts it out for a day or two now.

Took us about 25% longer to get to airport. Roads were icy but we made it okay just going slower. Plane departure is a go.

I live just south of the Hulen bridge over the railyard, I am hoping to be able to get out today to run some errands, has anyone driven over that bridge? I am assuming it's probably a nightmare and I'll have to go around a different way, maybe through Tanglewood to University or something, but I'd like to avoid unnecessarily adding more distance to my drive if I can get over the bridge relatively easily.

We drove it last night on way home from the rodeo - it's fine just give yourself lots of space.

This is such a crazy story! Congrats on the baby and hope everything is well.
