Growing/aggressive industrial manufacturing company seeking engineer. Key responsibilities will include product design improvement, CAD program improvements for internal and external customers, and improving our engineering change and quality programs. Location is an easy 30 minute commute from Dallas.

Lots of details and color below. If interested PM or comment and I'll answer questions and/or get you in touch with our recruiters. Please feel free to pass this along.

I'm the owner and CEO of an industrial manufacturer serving the energy sector. We are stepping on the freakin gas and need some more talent.

If you want to sit at a cubicle and do the same thing all the time this is NOT the right opportunity for you. We are nimble and growing so we all wear multiple hats. Your main roles:

- Improve our product designs. This has lots of meanings and you'll get to hit it from all angles. Make it better and easier for our customers. Make it faster and cheaper to manufacture. Make it supply-chain friendly by making smart material and component choices.

- Level up our CAD program -- use SolidWorks to improve the data we use for manufacturing AND improve our customer experience by streamlining the creation of models and drawings (NOT looking for a drafter -- looking for a CAD enthusiast who is competent in the tools but more importantly is excited to come up with ways this suite of products to help our company be better, faster, and more efficient)

- Help us improve and run our engineering change and quality programs. Keep in mind this is a lean, growing company -- not some big behemoth. So these programs are REAL and IMPACTFUL, not the bureaucratic BS you might think of when you hear "change management" and "quality." You'll get to make improvements that have immediate impact and see the results.

If you don't think you check 100% of these boxes I don't care. If you're smart and eager, we can train you on some of this ourselves and the rest of it we can send you to courses to get you the skills you need to be successful.

What you need to bring from day one:

- A brain that can look at things from multiple angles at once -- we need you to think about all the bullets above from both a customer and internal perspective. I know this doesn't come easily for everyone.

- Excited to learn, grow, and push yourself. We are a growing company. Our needs will expand and evolve so everyone at the company has to be constantly getting better, learning new skills, and sharpening our talents. We'll provide you the tools you need to do this, but it needs to sound exciting to you, not stressful.

- Positive, proactive mindset. We believe that as a company and individuals we are in control of our own choices and attitudes, and ultimately we get to write our own destiny. So we don't abide victims, blamers, sad sacks, or gophers. Growing a company is challenging and fun so we need you to show up ready to enjoy the ride.

Gut feeling is this is probably a good second or third job for a mechanical or industrial engineer who's seen some stuff. Or maybe someone a little further on in their career whose daily work has gotten a little too narrow and would like to wear multiple hats.

Experience in manufacturing would be a huge plus.

We offer a full benefits package with 401k, insurance, etc.

Initially the job will be in the office. We're making big investments in our IT infrastructure to make things more flexible, so I can see this being a hybrid position once our systems support it. The nature of the job will frequently require boots on the ground in the plant, so probably not going to ever be fully remote

The plant is in Terrell. I've personally commuted from Downtown, Lake Highlands, Knox/Henderson, and Lakewood and it's a 30-35 minute commute against traffic from any of those places -- 70 mph the whole way. Anywhere east of the Tollway would be pretty easy.
