Lost power on the 2000 Chevy Silverado (134k miles) last night on I35 the way back to Dallas and suspect transmission failure due to all the red fluid pooling / splatter. Any recs of reputable transmission shops (or shops to avoid) around Dallas/Plano/Richardson/Garland/Addison/Carrollton/Grand Prairie would be much appreciated!

Red fluid pooling / splatter... did you run over something that broke the transmission pan? There's a chance the t r a n n y could be fine and you just need a new pan, filter, and fluid.

Well it's further East than Garland but we got great service out of Eagle Transmission over in Lavon just north of Rockwall.

Appreciate the additional replies above folks. I'm not certain if I hit anything as I didn't feel any type of thump at any point along my route, but anything's possible. Someone I spoke to at one of the shops also suspected something along these lines.

Bumping this as I have a gmc acadia that is slipping a bit under load in and out of 2nd.

I am in east dallas.
