Hi TexAgs!
I wanted to be sure and share the following article by Isaiah Mitchell here in the forum because I bet many of you would expect nothing less from that rival school up the road in Austin!
But I also want you to see how The Texan is committed to keeping Texans informed on legislation and state expenditures, even after the slew of bills and the state budget has passed. Not only do we need to be informed during the Texas legislative session as the sausage is being made, but almost more importantly, we need to be informed of the actual results of the legislation passed. As we all know, politicians, on both sides of the aisle, always think their authored bills are the next best thing since sliced bread. But the proof is in the puddin', as they say.
As a former state senator, I know full well how these bills are "pitched" to get them passed and I certainly know how the media reports on political happenings these days with narratives, not just the facts. And that's why I started The Texan.
Our goal is not to tell you what and how to think by pushing narratives from one political side, which all the corporate media seemingly does these days. We exist to do what the media no longer does - report the facts and allow you to make up your own mind.
We think you're big kids and can actually read an article, void of political narratives, and decide on your own if you support or don't support a candidate, a politician, an issue, or specific legislation. And how best to decide that than to be informed on how that legislation is shaping up after it passed?
I hope you enjoy this article by Isaiah Mitchell, who checked in on the Liberty Institute, which was sold as "a world class enterprise dedicated to the study of individual liberty, free markets, political systems and associated institutions." However, the University of Texas professor who led the effort to create this institute claims university leadership is sabotaging the state-funded project - funded to the tune of six million dollars, by the way - and that a critical theorist is at the helm of the project. Read the article here.

Thank you for having us here, and let us know your thoughts on the evolution of and hollowing out of this project funded with taxpayer dollars.
