Is this allowed or even feasible? My parent's have one at their house down near the coast. They use it primarily for watering the yard. With the heat wave we've been going thru, I've been watering pretty much every day. I can't wait to see my water bill next month.

Depends on if the land came with the right to the water/minerals etc. Also neighborhood covenant issues if in HOA would be something to look at.

Even if you live in the country, it depends on location. I bought some land in far southwest Hunt County and checked on drilling a well. I was told that it would be expensive and I wouldn't get much water from from it. The guy said that if I had bought land 30 miles to the east, I would have been able to have a well.

My friend in Southlake has an old well on his lot, but it barely flows enough for landscape irrigation purposes.
