We need to be out of our house by the end of the month but unfortunately we may not be able to move into our new place until the second week of August. Does anyone have a recommendation of a moving company that also offers the ability to store your stuff for a few weeks, then deliver? We have a 3 bedroom house worth of things.

Thanks!

We had this exact same scenario and used Pods. It worked pretty well, though I would get one more Pod than you think you need (the website overestimates how many sq feet you can fit in them). I also got professional movers to load and unload the Pods, which I am very glad I did bc they Tetris'ed everything in the Pods way better than I could have done.

Ive thought about pods but with this heat Ive wondered about damage to anything with adhesives, electronics, etc. Seems like it has to be an oven in those things.

I didn't put my electronics in them - kept those with us at our temporary housing. I get that worry, though. It's insanely hot.

I did pod storage in Florida and they put the pods in a warehouse. Still warm but not sun hitting the POD hot.

Another vote for pods. We kept a tv in there for a few months in Texas (I guess it was technically spring but I remember it was pretty warm out) and it did fine. And unlike a storage unit they were flexible in how long we needed and only needed like a day or two of notice for pick up and drop off.

Pods are tough to secure right now quickly. Better get on it ASAP. Deliveries were also a few weeks out when we had ours delivered.

Granted, this was about 16 months ago.

I did mine 6 weeks ago and had no issues with getting Pods and the delivery dates I wanted. I booked them maybe 2, 3 weeks ahead of time.

We used a competitor to PODS, PackRat, with very similar results for a better price.

Also - +1 on professional movers packing the pods. They were able to fill it to the brim

My wife is super passionate about using these guys when we move:

They pack you, store it for you, and then deliver what you need from storage on demand. IOW, if you just want your kitchen stuff out of storage but nothing else they can do that.
