According to my brother who still lives in McKinney, it's closing down because no one wants to take it over. That place is an institution.

Still does good business too

Sad to see Old McKinney fading away

Wife's family settled in the area in the 1880's
Still has multiple family members that live within walking distance of the Cafe and Downtown
The changes in the last 25 years have been significant to them

There is a lot I don't recognize anymore when I go back. It's the nature of thing but I do miss some of the "good ole days". I saw where they're building a school on Mr. Frazier's old farm and naming it after him. My dad loved that man like the father he didn't have.

Heard he got offered 5M for the property. I probably would sell out too. Someone said they went by this morning and already closed so not sure.

FIL mentioned that rumor is the Cafe land was purchased by an investor and that it was closed yesterday
Also said that 380 (HWY 24) was going to be widened in that area

I was across the street from it today and the parking lot was as packed as I've ever seen it so as of around noon today it was still open.
