Taking a day off in a couple weeks with my 9yo to take in some museums and exhibits. I know the obvious answer here is Perot, but his brother will be away on an overnight field trip and would feel left out if we did Perot without him.

So far was thinking the Bush Library and then the Frontiers of Flight Museum. But wanted to see if you all had some suggestions. Thanks!

Science/History Museum in Ft Worth is great. It also has the Omni theater which is a great experience.
Not sure if interested in the Old West etc...but the Sid Richardson Western Art Museum is good too.

The National Video Game History museum is in Frisco, but I have a feeling the brother might feel left out of you took him there

The Bush Library seems like punishment for a 9-year old.

FW Science and History Museum is great and is surrounded by a few other interesting art museums. Or if he's a history nerd, 6th Floor Museum is cool. Log Cabin Village is kind of a museum and my 8-year old liked it.

Frontiers of Flight is a good one. There's also the Cavanaugh Flight Museum in Addison if your kiddo likes planes.

Heard Museum in Fairview/Mckinney. They have their annual Dinosaurs Live exhibit going on. My kids used to get a kick out of the animatronic dinosaurs when we'd take them to the Heard Museum when they were in elementary school. The dinosaurs are outside spread out along the trails. So, be sure it's not raining if you decide to go.

Not really a museum but I highly recommend the Dallas World Aquarium downtown. It's badass and great for kids.

Frontiers of Flight is a great choice - as someone else stated Cavanaugh is a good one too.

By the way, you can buy a family membership to the Heard Museum for $160/yr and it comes with free admission to the Perot Museum and the FW Museum of Science and Technology.

Ha! We lived in Denton a few years ago and still go to the FreePlay there from time to time. Some of Denton's more colorful residents tend to freak him out. Can't imagine what the Deep Ellum ones would do to him.

Haven't been in quite awhile but agree. We took the grandson to the Children's Aquarium in Fair Park in July and had a good time. You can park right next to the building. Several extra cool experiences there including petting stingrays, red garra tank that you can stick your hand in, and a coloring station where the kids can color a fish, turtle, etc and scan it into the huge video display.

Not a museum, but the Arboretum has all their holiday stuff up starting today - they have a Christmas Village and other things that he might like.
