Howdy all!

Wife and I are going skiing next week in Colorado. I am an experienced skier, wife's first time. Renting all equipment, but Wolf Creek, where we are skiing, does not rent helmets (which I thought was weird). We have all clothing, but don't want to buy helmets given we are pretty infrequent skiers! Does anyone have a men's and/or women's helmet (or I guess they are gender neutral?) that we could borrow for the week? Leaving this Saturday 7th and coming back Sunday the 15th.

At $7-$10 a day you might want to just go ahead and get a basic helmet for $60-$120 each. You're going to get something fit for your head. You will recoup the cost in 2 ski trips.

If driving, run by a ski shop outside Denver and get fitted.

no different from bikers tbh...as much as i wish they'd mandate helmets, i think we're a ways off.

It's probably a Covid related thing. Lots of places stopped renting items like helmets because of the required cleaning protocols and related concerns (valid or not). In Santa Fe, NM you couldn't even rent a bicycle at one point.

That could also go the other way if someone gets hurt in a helmet you rented them.

Get an inexpensive bicycle helmet at Walmart.

I found some helmets at Dicks several years ago about this time of year (much is in clearance) for about $20

please don't do this...mainly because you'll look goofy as hell, and your head may get cold.
