No briskets at my Kroger but they did have Choice ribeyes so I got those instead.

Also got a pork butt and 2 racks of ribs.

No prob. They run those ribeyes quite often. If you sort through them you can often find some pretty good ones.

Watch the quantity limits. I had a problem with Butts last week.

Historically there has been a limit of 2, where I've had to "forget" something 5 times in order to buy 10 of them. Last couple times they've done the sale however, they've allowed 5 at a time. You can always just go in and out.

Yeah, I've been to 3 now and only the first one I went to had the briskets on sale. The others had the St. Louis and the pork butts, but no brisket. I'm going to try the first one again tomorrow but I'm sure they're all gone. Not sure what happened. Sorry.

Went yesterday...ribs, pork butts, and ribeyes were on sale at Prosper Preston location.

Kroger in Denton on teasley has all 3 still.

Was only able to find the butt for those prices at TCU Kroger.

Did you ask the meat guy? Lot of times they'll have more in the back. I asked the butcher if he was out of briskets and he said no and went and grabbed another case of them. I said something like 'you don't see this sale very often anymore on briskets" and he said it was their "grand reopening sale". I said that they never shut down and he said it was corporate BS because they did a small reorganization. Seems most Krogers have all but the brisket however on sale.

I never shop at the TCU store so it's hard to say what's normal but they didn't have any place in the cases for briskets that I could see. I didn't bite on the ribs because they were marked at $2.99 as the sale price in the case.

I called them back and figured out you need the digital coupon for the ribs. They didn't have any briskets. Butt signs were up but no butts on my return visit.

I almost wrote you back earlier about the digital thing but thought it would be too complicated and I was in a hurry. They really want you to use their app so they make you "clip" coupons in your account and you'll get the big savings. Sorry you missed out. Luckily they have the pork butt sale quite often (every 4-5 weeks). Ribs are more rare, and the brisket ones are very rare.

Careful when they don't say "St. Louis". These might be those huge spares that come with the chine bone still in and you have to trim and throw away (don't have to but most people don't use them) 35% of what you buy.

I think you're right but isn't this the cut that most bbq restaurants serve? These make the really long pork ribs because of the extra meat and the cartilage on the end.

No. BBQ joints serve St. Louis but they leave some of the cartilage (rib tips) on them. The big spares that have the bone in them have a lot of extra on there that you don't see at any bbq joints. And you pay for a big ass bone, that unless you make pork stock, is thrown in trash.

OK, so now Kroger has St. Louis spares for $1.77/lb with the digital coupon. This takes a rack of ribs from about $22 to ~$7.

No prob. For some reason you can buy 5 at a time now. Used to be a limit of 2. Not complaining over here.

It's back this week. Limit 2. But they will do rain checks when they run out.

Picked up 1 yesterday in Frisco - .77lb, limit of 2.

Grabbed two pork butts for 97 cents per pound in Prosper yesterday.....I've smoked two in the past 2 weeks, so replenishing freezer stock.

This still running or over? I'm doing a pork butt for Easter lunch.

Went to grab a brisket from freezer yesterday and realized I don't have one....ready for the next Kroger brisket sale. I've stocked up on pork butts, as they seem to have had those deals pretty often.

Tom Thumb ad from yesterday shows $1.67/lb for choice brisket through 4/11. You have to play the game of downloading the app and 'clipping' the coupon in the app. HEB has same for $1.77/lb with $20 purchase but they also have prime for $3.99/lb. I think the Costco prime brisket can get lower than that but it's been a while since I bought one.
