Depending on your age, budget and interests, the West 7th area is nice. There are some nice complexes downtown as well.

Need more info. What part of town would you be working in? Any kids? Married? What are you looking for? Something walkable?

I lived at The Depot in downtown FW for a couple of years and really enjoyed it. Great location, walking distance to Sundance Square

Would second The Depot, also walking distance to Bass Hall. But West Seventh is probably the hottest area.

A couple of apartments right behind the Whole Foods in Clear fork area that have access to the Trinity if you like running or biking.

Sasha has killed Sundance Square in pretty short order. It's not what it was or what it was intended to be at this point.

I would look near West 7th or Clearfork.

Is W 7th still considered an attractive option? Lots of crime and businesses leaving the past 4-5 years, it's essentially turned into a bar district (which may be a good thing if you're young).

Based on what I've seen when shopping and eating there Clearfork seems to be a really nice area.

ClearFork/Hulen and S Main/Magnolia are the best spots right now. W 7th is getting weird and crime-y. Depends on where the job is.

I did read some articles that they changed some laws/regulations around the West 7th area. Something about open container law, and that there used to just be a lot of underage people hanging around in the evening causing problems and now they have no reason to be there.
I also feel like the South Main area still butts right up against some shady neighborhoods.

Lived on west 7th in 2011-2012. That was the right time to get out.

I live on the near north side off of Samuels Avenue. Really nice quiet area still only a 10 minute walk from downtown.

I live at The Franklin. Great place.

This.

Clearfork going to be more expensive but more upscale.

S Main/Magnolia will still have nice apartments and a lot more within easy walking distance, but it's very much a pocket neighborhood in that you go a block any direction and you're having to deal with homeless.
