Looking for recommendations for a 1 Bedroom/1 Bath apartment that is affordable for a fairly new graduate, hopefully $1,400 or less in a decent, safe area. It's been eye opening how expensive apartment rents are given how many complexes have popped up in the metroplex. It makes it hard for anyone starting out to find something affordable.

This is for one of our young adult kids who has been searching for several weeks. There doesn't seem to be any "move in" specials and breaks these days. Thoughts or suggestions appreciated from anyone that is currently searching for an apartment or been thru this and found a good place.

Old Shepard Place Apartments in Plano might be worth looking at. Off of Preston Road near Park/Preston intersection where all of the good shopping is: Whole foods, Trader Joes, Market Street.

Didn't mean to leave HEB out. Was just trying to give OP some nearby landmarks.

OP: There is also an HEB about 6-7 minutes (depending on traffic) North of this apartment complex.
