I will be a Senior Counsel working part time consulting for a law firm at One Main downtown

there is a cute Airbnb I found but not sure if this is a safe neighborhood or not.

on the Airbnb map it looks like it is between "Old East Dallas" and "Munger Place"

my folks live in Allen (that is why I am moving to Dallas for several months)

any contacts for business furnished homes or shorter term rentals?

I don't want to ship all my stuff from DC area for less than a year in Dallas.

It's the inner city. As inner cities go, it's OK. But there will always be a crime element that close to downtown. Especially after dark.

My wife is an RN and none of the nurses at Baylor (a few blocks away) will not walk to their car by themselves - too many muggings.

I know that location well. Everyone's threshold for "safe" is different, so I'll put it this way -- it's probably fine, but if my adult sister was looking for a short-term spot for herself, I could not recommend that location in good conscience. Especially if you want to take advantage of the "off site, 5-minute walk" amenities that they're advertising.

That complex was a 1950s garden complex that was one of several that two brothers renovated really well back in the late 90s/early 00's, but the location isn't for everyone. It's a little annoying that half of the photos in that listing are of the off-site amenities.

I'll keep an eye out for any short-term rentals coming up, and I'll give you a shout.

big problem is most of these places do not have covered parking garage.

If it's right off of Greenville Ave like it looks on the map, then I might be concerned about traffic & noise (at least on the weekends). But the attached garage is a definite plus.

I love this:
