The absolute worst part of any Milestone commercial is the line "we'll refund you your money"

Wait, can you refund me other people's money? I want to be refunded Mark Cuban's money if that's an option.

How about, "We'll issue a refund".

Technicians are very much taught how to sell in the trades. And with either commissions or bonuses tied to how much they sell, it can get gross in a hurry

My issue is it wasn't just a one time; even after I intervened, they kept calling him pitching all sorts of maintenance plans. One of these "maintenance plans" is what also kicked off the initial unnecessary work. Pretty easy to dupe olds and play their fear into maintenance plans they don't need; part of their business plan seems based on it. I finally reached the right person high enough to put a stop to it, but it was much tougher than it should have been.

these advertisers remind me of a time that my previous company spoke to one of their sales reps about advertising on the little ticket. the lady comes in and talks about the fact that Norm really wanted to get to know the companies for whom he did spots. she said he didn't/wouldn't just take on any business and only dealt with companies with great reputations.

of course, he then did a spot for choose energy...and he had no idea what their company was at all.
