I've received a couple of quotes so far, but a bit higher than I was expecting. Both have been between $3-3400 to replace both units.

I've got two water heaters that are on the second story but located off a bedroom in a walk-out decking. Natural gas, 40 gallon short.

Located in Cypress.

Give Greg Cornman a call @ 832-867-8602. He replaced mine and did a great job.

+1 for Cornman. He is prompt, reliable, straightforward guy and reasonable. Lives in my neighborhood in Cypress and all my neighbors use him too.

I work in the business on the sales side. The heaters alone will run you $1,000 after tax etc...plus parts.

Sounds a little high to me but not dramatically off from what most guys are quoting for two heaters on second story however you can definitely find guys out there to do it cheaper.

Please for the love of God do not buy yalls heaters at Home Depot. Go to a supply house. They are about the same cost and you get a much better heater even with the same brands.

Plus Home Depot/Lowe's does not provide great support with there heaters. And anytime you go to a supply house, if they see that model number that starts with an X, they can't order parts and help y'all either

You can buy 2 of them at Home Depot for your quoted price of 1 and still have money left over for parts.

Yea, I wouldn't buy ones with plastic valves anyways. I've heard those tend to fail and I'd rather not flood my house. The reason I'm doing this now is we've had three other water related issues in the last year and I don't want this to be a fourth.

I bought mine at a supply house in Houston for less than $500 and installed myself. Its a Rheem 50 gallon electric with brass valve. Supply house plumbing products are higher quality than Home Depot according to every plumber.

$1000 must be for one of those wifi enabled heaters for folks who have to connect every appliance to an app on their phone.

My MIL paid a plumber $900 for an install in her garage that included the water heater. Attic installs are the worst and more expensive.

I paid under $900 for a garage install a couple years ago in spring branch. Nice heater too.

For $3400, I'd be looking at converting to tankless.
The story isn't that [DeSantis] "couldn't win" the primary. The story is that an overwhelming majority of our population is heinously stupid. 50% of them vote for communists. 75% of the remaining 50% vote for Trump, who cant win. When the majority of the opposition party insists on voting for an opposition candidate who can't win, you get exactly the government you deserve. - Well Endowed Ag

I had Daniel Spedale replace both of mine last year. 2 story home, both 40 gal in attic.

He was much cheaper than the other couple of quotes I received, was quick, and extremely nice. My neighbor (who works in construction) used him as well and was very impressed by his pricing.

Where or how do you locate a supply house in your area?

That was for 2 heaters. $3400 would be about 1 tankless. Also, the city will nail you on the supply side if the line off the main is too small.

Google the closest Ferguson plumbing counters (NOT the showroom) or Moore supply (2nd choice). I don't have any experience with Moore, other than them supplying some commercial fixtures. You'd be fine with either though.

Hi Jack, if you know Greg personally, please tell him to finish his job. He installed my water heater and didn't install the recirculating loop like he said he would. My name is Clint and he will know who I am. I'm furious that he didn't finish the job as quoted.

Did you pay him everything before he finished the job?

I've used LesCon plumbing for replacing water heaters and other things for the last 10 years. Most of their plumbers have been there for many years. Not cheap but a good company and phones are always answered and appointments are kept.
