new 2-part series on A&E showing the first bilingual HPD group to tackle violent crime. Started in 1979. Part 1 aired last night and part 2 for tonight. Good show.

I watched it last night. I thought parts were great but it seemed choppy at times where the storyline didnt flow. It was almost like they had too much content and tried to jam it all in.

HPD murdered Joe Torres and threw him handcuffed in the bayou in 1977. I was 13 and still remember it. That sparked the Moody Park riot in 1978.

This group was set up for optics to keep the Hispanic gangs from raging on the city. They want you to believe it was great police work to clear those murders. They paid off one gang to get the other.

HPD has a long history of murder and oppression. Don't believe anything you see about them. It's a corrupt cesspool.

Don't go to town! Hopefully they don't come no knock raid and murder my family for saying that.

Had a FTO tell me, when he was a detective for HPD he arrived on scene of a officer involved shooting.

Noticed something was off on the dead suspect. Apparently, dude had 6 hand guns laying around him.

He told the sgt in charge, he was going on a coffee break, when I get back, there better be only 1 gun.

70's 80's HPD officers were something else. Why we all wear body cameras now.
Rules.... Without them, we live with the animals.

This is not 'Nam, this is bowling. There are rules.

I sure hope they tell the whole story including the part about. Officer Robert Martinez Gatewood who was fired in 1991 after he was accused of tampering with a witness. Gatewood was then convicted in federal court of drug conspiracy in 1993 and sentenced to more than 24 years in prison.
