Please let me know if you've had a good experience with a concierge doctor and have a good recommendation.

I have a handful of autoimmune diseases including polyarticular & psoriatic arthritis and Hashimoto. I'm hoping to get pregnant in the next few years too. I'm hoping to find a doctor with a good network of specialists. I have been trying to stay within the Methodist network, but that just isn't working out well.

I live just west of downtown (4th ward) but I'm willing to travel for great care. I'm really just tired of waiting 5-6 months to be seen and having my appointment rescheduled and needing to wait another 3-4 months.

I'm a solo practitioner, so I don't have insurance but do have cash.

Dr. Riley or Feldman at BCM. I see Feldman just because I prefer a male doc but had a weird medical issue this week actually and Riley was great on very short notice.

All the specialists I have seen have been great. The ease of access and the program in general is fantastic imo.

ETA: McNair building in Med Center. It's surprisingly very accessible. It's on the edge of the Med Center. You park right by the elevator. Go up a floor. 2nd elevator right there and on the 6th floor you walk right in. They are waiting for you and call you by name.

Medical Clinic of Houston has physicians offer concierge medicine. The physicians who offer it are noted in the link below. Most are accepting new patients but there are some who are not. MCOH is affiliated with the Methodist system and also uses Methodist MyChart if you're familiar. My current physician doesn't offer concierge so I am looking to switch at the beginning of next year.

Honest question.

I get why the OP may want concierge medicine given health issues, but is it something the average person should consider?

Just trying to understand what the benefits are if you are healthy (in general).

You pay extra so that you can be annoying and demand a response right away instead of just going into a doctor's in basket waiting for an underpaid MA to read your message and ask the doc.
